Old Puller Cup 2007

Report bad links

The 2007 Old Puller Cup team competition was held at St.Albans Chess Club on Sunday 20st May. It was very pleasing to see another increase in both the number of teams and players, 9 teams and 60 players. The format remained the same as last year in that the top four scoring players from a club contributed to the final result in 3 sections. The sections being open, under 150 and under 125.

The top section was won by top seeds Royston. There was a three way tie for second place between Hemel, St Albans and Welwyn.

The under 150 section was very close with Welwyn Hatfield Chess Forum just a half point in front of Hertford and St Albans.

The under 125 section was also won by Welwyn Hatfield Chess Forum by half a point from St Albans.

Thanks to Chris Majer for presenting the prizes, after the president disappeared early.
